NemeriX is a well-established maker of GPS cores, and their application has nothing to do with XM's business. Add a hyphen and it might make more sense to you:
satellite radio-localization apparatus
As in using satellite signals to determine where you are.
IMHO, the letter "X" is too close to "XM" and will cause confusion in the mind of consumers shopping for just about any type of consumer radio receiver. XM is integrated in Garmin, Bushnell, and AudioVox GPS/Navigation systems, as well as conventional AM/FM vehicle and table top radios. XM WX receivers are used emergency responders, pilots, and boaters, all equipped with location related capability. They have used "Radio to the Power of X" as part of their advertising. Unless NemeriX has already used "X" to brand its products, XM will have a ligitimate case to oppose it.
