Bell South Makes another Plea

On September 19, 2006, Bell South made another plea to extend the buildout deadline for its WCS licenses. I'm glad to see that the FCC is in no hurry to grant Bell South's wish. The WCS Coalition demanded that the FCC make a decision by September. Just like with XM's attempted purchase of WCS Wireless, the FCC is taking its time.

Not much new here. Bell South stresses that they have tested pre-WiMax equipment and if the FCC gives them a little more time, then they will be able to implement true WiMax equipment. Note that neither Bell South nor any other WCS license holders have engage XM and Sirius in any discussions to resolve the repeater issues, despite XM's and Sirius' effort to engage the licenses holders over a month ago.

Enough is enough. It is time for the FCC to tell them, "Use it or lose it". Satellite radio could put this band of frequencies to use almost immediately.
