Verizon to Horizon

The FCC consented to Verizon's application to assign its 8 WCS licenses to Horizon Wi-Com, owned by Rajendra Singh. Mr. Singh was a recent principal in two Commission licensees, Teligent and Mobile Satellite Ventures. The public notice will be issued tomorrow. The licenses to be transferred are listed below:

The WCS licenses are located on either side of the satellite radio band and are of great interest to the satellite radio providers. The WCS licenses holders have until July 2007 to build out their systems; otherwise, they risk losing their licenses. They have requested an extension to the build out date. Both Sirius and XM have opposed this extension.
